Cylindrical or tubular filters are generally open ended types of filter although they come in many different shapes and sizes for numerous applications such as Y-Strainers.
Material – Typically perforated metals, woven wire mesh or most commonly a combination of both to ensure support and rigidity. Other types of internal supports can be utilised such as springs and materials layered for dual flow direction and back flushing.
Material Types – Generally stainless steel, copper, brass, phosphor bronze, monel and occasionally mild steel.
Variations – Cylinder filters can also incorporate pleated material, flanges, swaged ends, end caps, seals etc.
Construction – From a simple tube to multi layered and pleated constructions, soldered, spot welded, adhesive bonding etc.
