Basket Filters are very similar to cylinder filters except that one end has either a solid or filtering blank and there is usually a lifting handle to aid removal of the filter for applications that require more frequent cleaning.
Material – Generally made from perforated metal and / or woven wire mesh and occasionally from weld mesh or flat expanded metal as required.
Material Type – Stainless steel is by far the most popular material for basket filters although other materials such as copper, brass, phosphor bronze, monel and mild steel could also be used.
Variations – Flanges, fixed or removable handle, solid base, filter base.
Construction – Single or multi layer construction basket filters are most commonly spot welded together although other methods such as soldering and bonding can also be employed in some instances.
